Dr. Valerie Miller grew up in Long Island, NY. She moved to Ohio to attend The Ohio State University and graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine there. After living in California and Virginia, where Dr. Miller practiced in a small animal center and an all-feline practice, she moved to York, PA. Dr. Miller has 4 children and many pets, including dogs, cats, bunny, horses, sheep, peacocks, chickens and pet birds.
Dr. Miller built Springettsbury Veterinary Center on vacant ground in 1990 and opened for practice that fall. By the summer of 1993, the business was growing and an addition was put on the building. The Center later became known as East York Veterinary Center. In 2009, a large expansion and renovation took place resulting in a 7,000 square foot state of the art facility.
East York Veterinary Center employs over 20 staff members, including 4 veterinarians, 2 managers, nurses, and client care and animal care specialists.
Dr. Miller has served on the Board of Directors for the York County SPCA for over 20 years. She continues to be involved and is a co-host of the local TV program: Meet the Pets. Dr. Miller and her staff participate in many community events highlighting animal welfare such as: dog walk events, York Revolution’s dog mascot, career day in schools, emergency planning with townships, etc.
East York Veterinary Center has also served the wildlife of York County by working with the area’s licensed rehabilitators and performing emergency care on a wide variety of species at the hospital’s own expense.
The hospital is well-equipped with state of the art medical, diagnostic, security and computer equipment. Every effort is made to keep the facility efficient, modern, clean and pleasant. The hospital’s clients most appreciate the clean facility, prompt attention, and most of all, the obvious care and concern for them and their pets.
